Catalytic Generators, LLC teamed up with Leigh & Phil Cummin, experts in Australian ripening rooms, to form Catalytic Generators Australia Pty LTD. The same products and service available to ripeners in North America, the UK and other parts of the world are in Australia. No longer do Australian ripeners have to use dangerous and unpredictable cylinder ethylene; no more use of the unreliable “one-shot method” of injecting large quantities of ethylene to ensure that enough ethylene remains in the room for 24 hours.

No more using “Ripe Gas,” which contains only 4.5% ethylene mixed in with a Carbon Dioxide propellant…an inefficient and unwise way to apply ethylene. Why? Why does one vent a ripening room? To remove the Carbon Dioxide that the fruit emits. So why use a product that adds even more Carbon Dioxide to the ripening room? Our product creates almost pure ethylene in your ripening room under a “trickle system.”

The trickle system: Our process of ethylene production is controlled by a mini-computer inside of each generator. It is intelligently engineered to regulate the conversion of Ethy-Gen® II and allows calculated and small amounts to enter the heated catalyst chamber. This precise control permits the generator to continuously emit ethylene…the “trickle” method as the ripening industry refers to it, for better, uniform fruit ripening. The result is a system that is reliable, robust and safe, while creating enough ethylene to ripen tons of fruit.

Not only does our system offer these advantages, but also the fact that you cannot create an explosive amount of ethylene in ripening rooms using Catalytic Generators and Ethy-Gen® II (minimum room size is 45m3).
