The CRS. Ethylene for Ripening, Simplified.
-
Ethylene, made on demand in each room, from one central supply of Ethy-Gen® II.
Our custom-designed low-flow pumping station provides a continuous supply of Ethy-Gen® II Ripening Concentrate to the CRS Generators through a specially designed loop of industrial grade SS pipe. When you’re ready to ripen in a room and start ethylene application, it’s as simple as turning on the CRS Generator in that room.
Container installation is simple, thanks to our “Quick-Disconnect” fittings.
The Pump Control Station constantly monitors for proper flow of Ethy-Gen® II. In the event of an empty Ethy-Gen® II container or any other flow stoppage, the Pump Control Station notifies personnel immediately.

The CRS is easy to maintain. Our clear packaging allows for inspection of the product received, and makes it easy to check inventory. We’ve removed the guesswork from ethylene, meaning that since Ethy-Gen® II is a visible product, you’ll no longer have to weigh your supply, and will never inconveniently run out again .
Other “piped-in” ethylene systems has a distinct problem: the pipes carrying ethylene into rooms can have a leak somewhere along the way, and the correct amount of ethylene, needed for ripening, would not make it into the ripening room. Since ethylene is an almost odorless gas, the facility will never know about the leak until the fruit doesn’t ripen correctly! With the CRS, if for some unlikely reason the tubing carrying Ethy-Gen® II to rooms develops a leak, it is easily recognised. Since it is a liquid, the problem is seen and can be quickly resolved.
The CRS is far easier to maintain than other ethylene systems. The large supply of Ethy-Gen® II that connects to the system will last at least 5 times longer than other piped-in systems, saving you valuable time, as well as money on shipping. Our quick-disconnect fittings and palletised containers of Ethy-Gen® II make it easy to swap out containers.
-
Our knowledgeable staff is happy to install the CRS at most any facility, worldwide, to ensure that everything is set up correctly and integrated properly. We usually complete installation within two days, but depending upon the size and complexity of the facility, we may require additional time.
-
Produces consistent, non-pressurised and safe ethylene levels to ensure uniform initiation of the ripening process
No mixture with inert gas is needed as our system is inherently safe
Easy to make only as much ethylene as needed for the target room, no need to store large quantities of compressed gas on site
There are no residues as a result of our ethylene application
Adjustable ethylene output allows for adaptation to any ethylene PPM requirement and any room size

-
Adjustable Conversion Rate: the amount Ethy-Gen® II that converts to ethylene is a user-selectable rate and varies from <1 to 2 litres per 24 hours (additional and custom rates available).
Ethylene Output: Approximately 0.386 m3 of ethylene will result from the conversion of one litre of Ethy-Gen® II in a minimum period of 12 hours.
-
Every CRS Generator has constant monitoring of ethylene conversion. At the top of the generator is a highly visible light, which indicates the operation status of the unit; a green light makes it clearly evident of ethylene production, or a red light will provide an alert in the rare occurrence of a malfunction.
Also, on the Pump Control Station is a monitor of Ethy-Gen® II flow. In the event of no flow to the ripening rooms, the pump will shut down and a bright red light illuminated.

Place on on the wall with our mounting system. Any convenient location in the room is acceptable, as long as protected from forklift / pallet jack traffic.

Our generators can be used for fruit ripening in rooms that have a minimum cubic dimension of 45 cubic metres.
On the maximum side, the general rule is 285 cubic metres. The actual dimensions depends on several factors, including desired ethylene level and room “tightness” (how well-sealed the room is to prevent air loss).
For rooms larger than this, additional generators can be used, if needed, to achieve the proper ethylene level. It may be possible to use just one generator for a room that is larger than 285 m3; again, dependent upon how tight the room is. We have some customers that are able to use just one generator in rooms that are 570 m3 and still achieve 150 ppm of ethylene.
Remember, ethylene is explosive at 27,000 ppm; always use our generators in ripening rooms that are 45 m3 or larger. When using our equipment as directed, explosive levels of ethylene in ripening rooms are not possible.
